Senior Oceanfreight Import Specialist

Due to rapid expansion our client has an exciting new role available for a Senior Oceanfreight Import Specialist– to join the Oceanfreight department of this expanding Global Logistics Provider. The successful candidate will ideally have a steady employment history from within Freight forwarding/shipping or the logistics industry. The role is based in Colnbrook near Heathrow Airport. The role will be primarily handling one large major food account and dealing with all import oceanfreight traffic including Customs.

Employment Terms for the Senior Oceanfreight Import Specialist

  • £35-40K basic NEG (EXPERIENCE RELEVANT)
  • Benefits: Private Pension/Private Healthcare/25 days hol+BH/Annual Bonus
  • Mon-Fri 9am-5.30pm
  • Probation Period 6 months
  • On Site Parking
  • Hybrid working possibility 2 days WFH (after probation) but non contractual and subject to application and agreement of HR Mgr.

Experience and skills Required for the Senior Oceanfreight Import Specialist

  • Reporting Directly to the Import Manager
  • Self Manage (with support and training where needed) the Day to Day Operational tasks required
  • Spot Pricing / Quoting
  • Major Account Management
  • Booking Shipments (FCL/LCL) with internal Offices, Shipping Lines & Consolidators
  • Customs Clearance
  • (Preferred) Min 5yrs Import Ocean pref or Airfreight Experience
  • Knowledge of Cargowise Beneficial but not essential
  • Knowledge (use) of CNS/Destin8 essential /Customs
  • Possible option of considering knowledge of airfreight and will be cross trained on ocean

Trainee Import/Export Clerk

An exciting new position is available for a Trainee Import/Export Clerk based Central Heathrow. Full training will be given in multi-modal freight operations. Must be able to commute easily to the Hatton Cross Tube area.
Employment Terms for the Trainee Import/Export Clerk

  • Salary according to experience £19-25k NEG AAE
  • Mon – Friday 9-5.30
  • Private Healthcare after 3m
  • 20 days holiday plus BH rising with service

Some Required Skills:

  • Will Consider a bright college leaver or a candidate with minimal experience in logistics/freight or shipping industries.
  • Must have excellent written and verbal English and have great attention to detail, numeracy and literacy are important for this position.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high quality European road freight customs solutions to customers through effective communication
  • Completing Road/ Sea Import Customs entries including RoRo ports. Inventory and non-inventory Linked.
  • Ensure that all data is input accurately into operational systems (exceptional attention to detail required )
  • Utilize problem solving tools and implement corrective actions as appropriate
  • Liaising with customs agents for European truck movements.

Maintenance Technician

A new opportunity is available for a Maintenance Technician, the successful candidate should have a good understanding of DIY and have general maintenance skills, with an ability to self-organise and prioritise workloads, to be self-motivated and be able to cope under pressure.

Some Key Requirements

  • You must have the ability to work on your own initiative and able to manage time effectively and always prioritise conflicting demands.
  • Offer is subject to an enhanced and CLEAR DBS/checkable 5 year steady employment ref history.

  • You will need a drivers licence and your own transport

Some Key Responsibilities

  • To perform small repairs such as leaking taps, faulty door locks or jammed windows and general maintenance, including painting and decorating, to maintain/improve.
  • To assist in the preparation of vacant rooms for new residents at our housing establishments.
  • Check repairs database, maintain accurate records; log repairs
  • Liaise with external contractors/trades people to ensure work is completed to a satisfactory standard in accordance with Company policies and procedures

Employment Terms

Hours of work: 35 Hours per week The working pattern may vary to meet the needs of the role, but core working hours are between 09:00am – 17:00pm
Location: Candidates will need to be prepared to travel between/and work in all 8 Surrey sites across Redhill and surrounding areas as required by the needs of the business.
Responsible to: Facilities Manager
Salary / pay rate: £25,285 – £28,443 per annum depending on qualifications and experience.
Benefits: The post holder will be entitled to free use of the fitness Centre in Redhill and half price childcare for dependents. There is free parking available at all Surrey sites.
