Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with day-to-day accounting operations using Sage, including data entry, invoicing, and reconciliations.
  • Support the preparation of financial reports, including monthly management accounts.
  • Manage accounts payable and receivable functions, ensuring timely payments and collections.
  • Handle bank reconciliations and maintain accurate financial records.
  • Assist in the preparation of VAT returns and other statutory reporting.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Previous experience in a similar accounts assistant role.

Class 1 Container Driver

Our client are a dynamic and growing established freight forwarding agent expanding into Ipswich, specializing in container transport and are committed to delivering reliable and efficient services to our clients. We are currently seeking a reliable and experienced Class 1 Container Driver to join our team on a self-employed basis.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safely transport containers to and from ports, warehouses, and other locations.
  • Ensure all deliveries and collections are completed on time and in line with company standards.
  • Conduct pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure roadworthiness.
  • Complete all necessary paperwork and maintain accurate records of deliveries.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Valid Class 1 (C+E) driving licence.
  • Experience in container driving is preferred, but not essential.
  • Possession of port cards and relevant training is a plus, but not mandatory—training can be provided.
  • Good knowledge of UK road networks and port operations.
  • Strong commitment to safety and compliance with driving regulations.

Procurement Terminal Cost Controller

Our client a large and respected Shipping Line based in London is seeking an experienced Procurement Terminal Cost Controller. This is a hybrid position and will work 2 days from home. The main job purpose will be to assist with the Admin and Cost Control of Terminal and Port Services in the Europe and African Region.

Key Responsibilities

  • Daily monitor and periodically communicate progress and KPI maintenance to assist stakeholders during the procurement process (e.g., billing process, planning optimization).
  • Assist with the implementation of new developments, including new Transhipment Ports, new services, new routes, or new third-party agents.
  • Contribute to a cost recovery mindset, especially on auxiliary charges (e.g., Congestion, Overtime, etc.).
  • Support the Procurement Coordinator upon request and update the vendor database.
  • Accurately and timely maintain all Terminal and Port Services vendor tariff costs within our operational systems, including third-party agents (OPUS).
  • Assist in studies related to the enhancement of strategies, contracts, or tariffs upon request by the GM, Manager, or Procurement Coordinator.
  • Ensure contractual rebates and incentives are monitored and actioned.
  • Maintain and distribute KPIs for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure that all processes for Terminal Operations control in relation to vendor procurement are fully compliant with Company rules and regulations, such as the UK Bribery Act.
  • Assist the Manager and Coordinator with any JSOX, ISO14001, and AEO procedures.
  • Prepare and assist the Manager Terminal and Port Services with Audits.
